It is then coated with a high-gloss premium-grade white paint. Ventilation appliances are painted to match the shell for a consistent look. Tough, long-lasting clear polyurethane topcoat protects against scratches for lasting good looks and adds extra shine and depth to the high-gloss finish. Smooth, molded black rubber base trim wraps around the bottom of the helmet and adds to the overall good looks.
Shoei helmet design gives the X-Eleven a grand window for greater visibility and clear peripheral vision. A clear six-position flip-up CX-1V face shield, which is now wider to increase peripheral vision, covers the window and uses a positive lock ratchet system to keep it where you want it. The hard-coated face shield is made of injection-molded polycarbonate for outstanding shatter and scratch resistance and features UV-400 coating that provides 100% protection against harmful UVA and UVB to reduce eye strain and fatigue. This full face motorcycle helmet also features the Shoei QRBP quick-release shield-removal system and a shield lock-down lever.
Besides clear, replacement Shoei helmet shields in mirrored and tinted variety are available for the Shoei X-Eleven helment to provide practical functionality in different ambient light conditions or a snazzy upgrade. Mirrored Spectra replacement Shoei helment shield choices for the X-Eleven include mirror, blue, and gold. Smoke tinted Shoei helment shield options include mellow smoke, light smoke, and dark smoke for full sun riding. There is hi-def yellow for overcast conditions. A removable, washable, replaceable chin strap cover completes Shoei's total package of interior washability. A neck-roll pad is designed to both provide more comfort and to help reduce wind noise. A removable chin curtain further reduces wind turbulence and noise.
The X-Eleven's Hyper Dual Liner II anti-fog ventilation system combines five intake and exhaust vents with an air-channeling two-layer EPS inner shell. A dual-port front forehead intake duct provides a more directed flow of fresh air around the top of the head while two top dorsal venturi exhaust ducts draw a significant volume of hot air and moisture from inside the helmet. The mouth vent system can either provide fresh air around the mouth area, or the air can be directed upward along the interior surface of the faceshield to help prevent fogging. Fresh air flow is easily controlled by adjustable ventilation shutters.
